Forgive me for the ridiculous title. In case you didn’t know, I get a lot of my titles from songs. ( haha!)

Before I mention anything else, yes I know! It looks like my old “Dusk” picture. I don't care. That picture was two years ago! And how often do I do profile views anyway? And I’m VERY slowly struggling to get out of an “artist block”. (I really hate that word)

I ran into some minor problems while working on this picture.

First of all, deciding which cging program to use. If you don't notice, each cging program gives the image a slightly (or noticeably) different texture or effect. I tried Photoshop and open canvas and in the end, picked OC. (I haven't used OC other than inking for so long!) I hope my cging skills on OC have improved over the months from experimenting slightly different techniques on Painter and Photoshop.

Another problem was choosing an idea for the background, But that idea was scraped as you can see. Any kind of background would take away the focus on the character; However, instead of having the background completely black and plain. I decided to add a bit of tattoo like designs (-_-‘… reminds me of Coca Cola suddenly! Hmm…Tattoo …. I want a tattoo…)

Her braids were hell while cging... it took so long...too long... made me become impatient and uncomfortable.


I’m starting to realize I dislike the airbrush tool in Open Canvas. It’s… I uno..it’s not very good compared to PS and Painter. (Maybe it’s because I’m using the second oldest version of OC.) I like Open Canvas’s blur tool though. Also, out of all the cg programs I used, OC is seriously the best program to use for inking. It’s much easier to do line art on OC than any other program.
